Ziptrek’s zipline tours cost from about $73 to $123 a person on the booking platform, and you add the Skyline Gondola, which Skyline lists at NZ$69 for an adult and NZ$48 for a child aged 6 to 14. The Kawarau Zipride is the cheap option, from about $28 with photos and transport from town included.

The gondola
The Ziptrek tours start at the treehouse at the top of the Skyline Gondola, and every Ziptrek listing says the gondola ticket is your own expense. Skyline’s price page lists a gondola ticket at NZ$69 for an adult and NZ$48 for a child aged 6 to 14, with family tickets from NZ$177 for three. The page did not list a one-way fare. Ziptrek’s own site says its six-line tour finishes back in town, after the walk down through the forest.
What to budget
For two adults on the six-line tour, budget two tour tickets plus two gondola tickets. For a family on the four-line tour, a Skyline family gondola ticket may be cheaper than individual ones. If cost is the deciding factor, the Kawarau Zipride costs a fraction of the forest tours, though it is one short ride rather than a tour.
