Who can zipline in Queenstown: Ziptrek's tours from age 6 and up to 125 kg, with different minimum weights per tour, and the Kawarau Zipride from age 8, 30 to 150 kg.
Ziptrek’s Queenstown zipline tours are for ages 6 and over, up to 125 kg; the minimum weight is 30 kg on the six-line tour, 20 kg on the one-hour tour, and none is listed on the four-line tour. The Kawarau Zipride is from age 8 and from 30 to 150 kg.

Every Ziptrek listing also says the tours are not suitable for pregnant women. On all of them, closed shoes are required.
Which tour suits a family
For children of 6 to 9, or any child under 30 kg, the four-line tour is the practical choice: it lists no minimum weight and lets lighter children ride tandem with an adult. Its lines start low and slow. One review from a group “of varying ages from 6 to 70” said it “was enjoyed by all”. The Kawarau Zipride works from age 8, and a parent and child can ride side by side.
